Coaching Philosophy
“It doesn’t matter where you start from, it matters where you want to go”
From newbie to elite, helping athletes 1) set short and long term goals, 2) evaluate strengths and place for improvement, 3) Balance training and “life”, 4) learn the hows and whys of training and 5) follow a personalized plan that takes into account individual differences and keeps the athlete “healthy”.
Coach Kt provides a monthly schedule with daily workouts and drills in calendar format (thru Training Peaks, see screenshot below). She is available to answer your questions and is happy to help educate you on why you are doing what you are doing. She begins with a one on one initial consultation (either phone or in person) to determine goals and how to achieve them thru the monthly/daily log that is accessed on line.
Billing is done monthly and athletes are financially committed to the current month only.
In person sessions for swim, run and cycle analysis are available for an additional fee. (Please see fee chart)
What makes having a coach worthwhile?
Evaluate, develop, balance, grow, succeed
Evaluate – The first step in accomplishing any goal is acknowledging and solidifying exactly what it is. Goals vary to extreme from person to person. From winning every race to continuing to PR to learning to ride a road bike, each individuals goals need to be discovered in order to develop the path to attaining that goal.
Develop – The next piece involves determining the many facets involved in attaining that goal from a to z and how those steps can be incorporated into a daily life while maintaining balance with all the other priorities we each set for ourselves.
Balance – Continuous monitoring, flexibility and reassessment to be sure that priorities are still in order and that health and goals remain intact during the ever changing process of growth. Remembering that our investments in time and energy affect everyone and everything we come in contact with on a daily basis.
Success – The realization of goals and/or the continuation of the process for new goals.
All of these steps are much easier with the assistance of a good coach.
Coach Kt utilizes Training Peaks to monitor the training of her clients (see sreenshot below). With Training Peaks it doesn’t matter where you located. Your trainings schedule is accessible anytime, anywhere, from any computer with Internet access.
